TED Talks about Art
You can draw!
Why is it that so many people think they can’t draw? Where did we learn to believe that?
Graham Shaw will shatter this illusion – quite literally – in a very practical way. He’ll demonstrate how the simple act of drawing has the power to make a positive difference in the world. Graham specializes in the art of communication and has helped thousands of people to make important presentations. He is perhaps best known for his use of fast cartoon drawings to communicate ideas and is the author of ‘The Art of Business Communication’. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Of course, he won’t lear you how to draw as a Michelangelo. But after this lesson you won’t say again that you cannot draw!
How many other believes you have that is not right?
Art in the Age of Instagram
This talk will leave you thinking about the impact of social media on culture and the shape of things to come. Jia Fei answered for the most interesting question: What is the difference between the images you see on Instagram and images you see in the museums. For centuries museums have been authorities that come to interpretation of art. We used to trust museums, but now we have ability to upload photos, update Wikipedia.
Why do we share? Is that about you to visit museum, make a selfie?
The Psychology of Color | Riley Johnson
You’ll be surprised to learn how much color influences our moods, our choices, and our lives. Color psychology is the study of how colors affect perceptions and behaviors. In marketing and branding, color psychology is focused on how colors impact consumers’ impressions of a brand and whether or not they persuade consumers to consider specific brands or make a purchase. But the truth is that color is too dependent on personal experiences to be universally translated to specific feelings.
It is not a TED Talk, but once for me, this video was as a light in a dark. Better than any motivational or educational TED talk. The author has a lot of other videos on his YouTube channel. My favorite Understanding Color and Understanding composition.
